Look what you made me do

Look what you made me do

Look what you made me do…

My mind waged a silent battle commanding me to pay heed to you

This war inside my head marched orders that I had dodged once, twice and thrice-

I can control the noise no more for it has become like dynamite.

Look what you made me do…

Your gifts of scars and blues still sashay on my skin as if so new;

I am battered yet bound,

To serve you like no other, without making a sound-

And, look what you made me do…

I bit my nails and pulled chunks of my hair out too;

This war is setting fire to my head –

Commanding me to replace my blues with the ‘red’

Now, look what you made me do…

I heard the orders and obeyed them too;

The streaks of red are slowly trickling down the knife that I boldly hold –

This war has come to a halt like your breath and life, which now seems so old;

Look what you made me do…

This war has ended but there is still no solace and I wish I had found my peace too…
