Ammi and her Moonflower

Ammi and her Moonflower

Will I hear it, will I ever hear it?

Tears beg to leave my eyes

They keep fleeing

They are busy, so busy drawing lines of aches down my cheeks

I try to hold them all in, they’re scared to stay with me

They are adamant to flee, for they shall be free

But what about me?

What about the void that cannot be repaired?

What about the hollow that is deeper than a well?

I close my eyes, they flee again, oh wait, it’s time for the rain to come again

Can the heavy downpour beat my fleeing tears?

I beleive not, my heart knows, my heart still fears…

Ammi…

I yearned to hear it, I begged to cradle my own,

Fate gave me other blessings to cling onto

But a blatant void remains, one that is unexplained

A voice resides in me, it hums, it sings but mostly stings!

Ammi…I wonder how it would have sounded, I can touch the sound, it is so profound

Ammi…

You’re a lost dream,

I still smile thinking about what could have been mine

Blessings are all around me

But you are not here with me

I promise to find you one day my moonflower, we will shine together, you and I, soon in the hereafter

Ammi…
