A Letter Festival at BISSHWO SHAHITTO KENDRO in Honor of WORLD POST DAY

Spread the love

Manizey was one of the Panelist Speakers for the storytelling platform popularly known as OSHOMOYER DAAK, an initiative by KRAYON MAG. Manizey expressed that it was a privilege to share her thoughts about the “Artistry of Letter Writing” with the lively audience at the event. She began with a beautiful quote –

“To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.”

― Phyllis Theroux

From the essence of her speech it could be deduced that Manizey chooses not to be in an era where the society believes in letters that are lost, she wishes to dwell in an era where the society believes in the eagerness to send a letter and the anticipation upon its receipt. Towards the end of her speech she mesmerized the audience by reading out a letter in form of poetry which she had composed and which mirrored her thoughts about the event. The contents of the letter are shared below:

‘O Beloved Mine’

Send me a letter O beloved mine,

For the yearning in my heart is losing shine,

Tell me about the days gone by,

For I wait in silence trying not to cry,

Send me a letter O beloved mine,

For I am still hopeful and value time,

Tell me about your nights gone by,

For I tend to wait on my lonely side,

Send me a letter O beloved mine,

For the heart that aches from time to time,

Tell me O lover, do you see sunshine?

For I see it no more without the lover mine…

Send me a letter O beloved mine!
