When Fear Creeps In -

When I open the windows or the door
When I look up at the ceiling or the floor

At times, sometimes, it’s everywhere
It is around me and it is within me

It sticks like glue
Like clawing gum right under my shoe

It chokes me, then leaves
It makes me breathless; but then I breathe

And that is what I must do!
When fear walks in…

I will breathe easy, I will and I must
Then slowly I’ll spurn it, I will and I must!

It still hovers over my heart, playing with every beat as I type
But I will breathe easy, I will fight, I will fight!

Rain asked me to dance 💃

There was a drop at first
They soon turned into restless lines and streaks on my window panes
There was a tap and another
And there was an infectious humming of the winds; waiting for the dance-to-the-rain games

I looked at my window panes
They turned into a canvas for abstract art emerging from the strokes of rain
The rain commanded me to spit out all my worries, all my pain -
There was so much to gain, I was getting ready to dance in the rain

What shoes must I wear?
Which gown must I drape?
I was blushing before my dance “with rain”;
There was so much to gain, for I would be dancing in the rain!

I must dance like there is no tomorrow
I shall dance in the rain sans an ounce of sorrow
With a tap and a swirl I started to dance,
And when I danced, there was no tomorrow, there was no tomorrow!
I danced in the rain, I danced with the rain; and then there was no tomorrow!

There are only a handful of people who know this f

There are only a handful of people who know this fact about me. As a writer I am drawn to dark and raw emotions, jarring ache and pensive imagination. That’s just me when I wear my hat as a “writer”. I don’t gel well with sunshine, but I draw force from gloom and thunder claps.

I tend to fade only to claim back my shine again and again, and this cycle is heavily addictive. It’s my outlet and my elixir too.

I look at my flowers to smile,
But this smile is not for all to see…
My flowers smile back at me
Beautiful and carefree

I look at my flowers as I seek serenity
An inch of which I find no where else
My flowers emanate an enchanting essence to soothe my sanity;

Only for my flowers to see

31.07.2024 This poem is extremely personal and close to my heart. It is my story which I was scared to share, but it is relevant today and it is a prayer for every mother whose heart beats to bleed for the child she lost!
This is for every mother out there, a mother with ache, a mother with hope, a mother who is already a mother for many, a mother by deed(s), a mother by choice, a “MOTHER” and her moonflower.

It was a dream of mine to be called “Ammi” by my baby, but my Lord had other plans. Now I know why I chalked it, there was a big reason, we are living and breathing through that reason everyday!

I dedicate this to all the mothers out there who will reunite with their Moonflowers in due time, the wait might be long but the reunion shall be beautiful.

Ammi and her moonflower -

Will I hear it, will I ever hear it?
Tears beg to leave my eyes.

They keep fleeing
They are busy, so busy drawing lines of aches down my cheeks…

I try to hold them all in, they’re scared to stay with me-
They are adamant to flee, for they shall be free.

But what about me?
What about the void that cannot be repaired?

What about the hollow that is deeper than a well?
I close my eyes, they flee again, oh wait, it’s time for the rain to come again.

Can the heavy downpour beat my fleeing tears?
I beleive not, my heart knows, my heart still fears…

Ammi…
I yearned to hear it, I begged to cradle my own,
Fate gave me other blessings to cling onto
But a blatant void remains, one that is unexplained.

A voice resides in me, it hums, it sings but mostly stings!
Ammi…I wonder how it would have sounded, I can touch the sound, it is so profound.

Ammi…
You’re a lost dream,
I still smile thinking about what could have been mine.

Blessings are all around me
But you are not here with me.

I promise to find you one day my moonflower,
We will shine together, you and I, soon in the hereafter.

Dear IG Fam,

Hope you all have been well.

I have not been too well because 2023 was just not the year for me. I shall share some bits and leave out the rest since you all have been there, holding my spirits high, from the very beginning of my journey as an author and a storyteller.

You will be happy to know that I have started working on the second book of Aries and I am facing my demonic writer’s block(s) head-on!

This time I shall be more raw and transparent with you all so that I may share my struggles, my thoughts and euphoria after just maybe making a character laugh out loud!

I shall keep you all posted and share more as I soar through my imagination with Aries. Keep loving me, keep rooting for me. I’m doing the same for you all!

Her rouge faded

There is a lot of kindness in this world, some are seekers of kindness, some are finders and some are blessed.
I am fortunate enough to be blessed by the kindness that Team @newtonsarchive has shown me from the very start. This gesture genuinely filled my heart with nothing but warm love!
