The Tree

Spread the love

The Tree

The leaves have fallen, the branches bare

The tree longs for the leaves to appear

The tree shall stand tall forever; sans despair

In hopes that the leaves shall slowly reappear

The tree stands tall counting hours, counting days

The leaves come and go with the sun’s dancing rays

Some wither, some fall

But the tree stands tall, the tree stands tall

It bears love, it bears pain

The tree bears it all; alas! there is not much to gain

The tree shall stand tall

Bearing it all

It will cradle love and endure pain

Alas, there is not much to gain

…but the tree stands tall
