Shadow of the Chimera

Tell me, do you bleed?

I stood by the fireplace and posed the question, there was no retort, but I heard her breathe-

Answer me! Do you bleed?

My shadow had taken form as a grotesque chimera, hailing from the darkest creed…

Leave me alone, will you please?

How can a lion’s head on a goat’s body with a dragon’s tail offer me peace?

If you are my shadow indeed, then why don’t you bleed, why don’t you bleed, why don’t you bleed?

My crown of thorns claims my blood, but you choose to pay no heed, you choose to pay no heed, no heed!

You are my shadow, are you not?

Then why don’t you bleed, why don’t you bleed, why don’t you bleed?

The miasma of despair had become my cape –

Alas! My shadow would rather choose to escape…

But, oh shadow mine, open your eyes and watch me bleed…

The creature that you have become can help me lead!

I have bled enough, but there is still something I need…

Here is an offer from me to you – I’ll become your shadow instead, for I want you to lead!

With arms wide open, I let the shadow in!

With a roar and a smile, I calmly ordered for the battle to begin!
